British athletes at the Olympic Prohibited Shaking hands

"I think it's not a bad suggestion. Difficulty is when you shake hands withabout 20 people that you've never met," he said.

"If you have to shake hands with people, as long as you regularly washyour hands well using soap or washing hands can reduce the risk".

McCurdie gives tips for a team of 550 athletes and 450 support staff strong. Thissuggestion is part of a package of health and security issues are considered BOAto the Games. The tips simply by washing hands regularly and using a special handsoap protector.

"I believe the biggest threat to them is the possibility of disease and injury,"he said.

"Basically we are talking about minimizing risks and optimizing disease resistance"."It's all about hand hygiene."

He added that Olympics pretty hostile environment and be a first time experiencefor many athletes and support staff. The athletes will be staying near theOlympic venues and the bacteria can come from anywhere either spoon, fork, untilthe door handle. Health of the entire team, including support staff such as medicalpersonnel and coaches, is a priority BOA.
